Restaurant Review: Margaritaville Grand Turk

Hi everyone, it’s Victoria here, and today’s blog post is once again about Grand Turk! Grand Turk is such a beautiful port with plenty of things to offer that I just cannot stop writing about it, as shown in my previous posts! One of the more typically touristy things to do in port is to visit Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville, which offers plenty of things to do. While I have briefly mentioned Margaritaville in my Grand Turk port guides, I would like to talk specifically about the restaurant part of this wonderful Grand Turk staple!

Here is the Margaritaville sign that is above the entrance to the restaurant!

Overview
There’s no doubt that the atmosphere of this Margaritaville is laid back and definitely on island time, which is a great thing to experience on vacation. Besides the restaurant, this Margaritaville has multiple bars, a pool, and a gift shop! You could easily spend more than a few hours here, between the swimming, shopping and eating that is offered here and only a few steps away from each other.

The restaurant area itself is an open air patio, which is nice because it is so close to the beach, and it would take away from the laid back atmosphere if the restaurant was closed in.  the decor matches the attitude of Jimmy Buffett and of the saying “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere;” the restaurant is decorated in bright, beachy colors and has parrot statues and painting and surfboards decorating the walls.

The pool is also nearby, so you will be able to hear the pool party announcer and whatnot throughout your meal unless you sit farther away, but I am not sure for certain.

Food and Drinks
The menu is definitely extensive here, but in a good way; there’s something for everyone! Since it is in the Caribbean, the Margaritaville menu does feature a lot of seafood dishes, but there is plenty of options for non seafood eaters. There are a few salads, but they do feature a chicken or seafood protein, but you could easily ask your waitress for a salad without the meat and they will happily comply! And of course, the menu has Jimmy Buffett’s famous Cheeseburger in Paradise!

When I was here, I ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer, which could’ve been the reason why the portion was so big. Although I didn't finish it all, it wasn't because I didn't enjoy it - that quesadilla was delicious! It comes with roasted chili peppers and caramelized onions inside of it, along with the grilled chicken and mixed cheeses, but I asked for mine without the peppers and onions and it was perfect! My lunchmate ordered the coconut shrimp, and once again, that was a decent sized delicious meal!

As you can see, the chicken quesadilla was more than
enough for one person!

I don’t know much about the different types of drinks offered, but I do know that Margaritaville offers souvenir glasses, and can make certain drinks, like a pina colada, without alcohol in them because that’s what I had when I was here last!

Overall
Overall, Margaritaville Grand Turk is a great place to grab a bite to eat before shopping around town or going back on your cruise ship and it is a great place to sit back in the shade and enjoy the views of the beach or the pool!
