City Guide: St. Petersburg, Florida

Hi guys, it’s Victoria again and today I wanted to talk about my favorite city in Florida: St. Petersburg!

I’ve been to St. Pete twice so far and I’ve loved every second of those trips; there’s just so much to do there and there’s something for everyone. In this post, I wanted to mention a few things about traveling to St. Pete, like hotels, restaurants, and things to do. While I will only be mentioning a few things the city has to offer, don’t be a stranger to the city and go there with an open mind and I’m sure you’ll be able to find something you’ll enjoy!

Hotels:

While in St. Pete, I’ve stayed in two different hotels: the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel and the Courtyard by Marriott St. Petersburg Downtown. Both are beautiful hotels offering various amenities that are nearby to downtown St. Pete, but have different feels to them. The Hilton hotel is more modern and classy, while the Courtyard by Marriott has a more historic feel to it - it is the refurbished Pennsylvania Hotel from 1925! Both are with walking distance to Central Ave; where nearly everything is located in downtown.

Restaurants:

The Lure in downtown St. Pete has something for everyone - sushi, nigiri, and sashimi is just the beginning. When I visited The Lure in July 2017, I had the NYC sushi roll, which has smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese. It was absolutely delicious! And besides having absolutely delicious sushi offerings, The Lure also offers various tapas, salads, flat breads and tacos.

Along with having an extensive menu, The Lure also offers a cool place to hang out before tackling the rest of downtown. The walls are decorated with different murals and there’s also a few pool tables in the back!

Things to Do:

Now here’s the tricky part - trying to condense all of St. Petersburg, Fl into only a few sentences.

Daddy Kool Records:
Any music fan will love this place! The record store is quirky in the best way and the staff are always there to help with suggestions. Besides having an awesome collection of records, Daddy Kool also has a selection of pop culture figurines and merchandise.

The Dali Museum:
I haven’t been here yet, but it’s on my bucket list! Any artist will love this place; even the museum building itself is a work of art! Besides a permanent collection of Salvador Dali’s works, the museum also hosts multiple other art exhibits throughout the year.

Central Ave:
Now this might be cheating by listing a street instead of a specific thing, but walking down Central Ave is an adventure in itself! This is the heart of downtown St. Pete and you’ll be able to have the best time whether you’re looking for that perfect photo opportunity or looking for the perfect bite to eat; Central Ave hosts it all!

Honorable Mentions:
See a concert at State Theater, Jannus Live, or Vinoy Park
Go to the beach
Catch a baseball game at Tropicana Field (Go Rays!)
Go on a mural tour

I hope this brief guide helps fuel your wanderlust!
