Resort Review: Disney's Boardwalk

Hello everyone! I'm back with a resort review that will focus on Disney's Boardwalk Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Overview

View from the Boardwalk Resort, you can see the Yacht & Beach Club across the lake.

Disney's Boardwalk resort is one of the more popular resorts at Walt Disney World; it is unique in the fact that it features a Boardwalk area complete with restaurants, shops, and other typical boardwalk features. Many rooms at the resort overlook the Boardwalk area which is very unique and not something you would think to find in Central Florida.

Guest Rooms

The DVC portion of the resort features the usual range of DVC villas, with the standard studio and 1-bedroom options, with 2-bedroom lock-off villas available. These units feature the usual amenities that are standards of the Disney Vacation Club experience. The Boardwalk Inn portion of the resort, the non-DVC wing, has standard rooms with varying views, these rooms have a more standard hotel layout, with two beds, and no kitchen type set up like in the DVC villas. The Boardwalk Inn also features a Club level, which is available in a couple different layouts, a standard room, a larger deluxe room, or it appears they even offer a pretty neat looking outer building, meaning no Boardwalk view, room with a loft and club level perks. All in all, the Boardwalk resort has a wide variety of rooms available, which are all appointed with amenities to match Disney standards at resorts with comparable experiences.

Resort Amenities

The Boardwalk Resort has one huge amenity that no other resort has, the Boardwalk itself! The Boardwalk area is very nice, complete with various restaurants and shops. The Boardwalk lacks a proper quick-service establishment however, so the Boardwalk bakery attempts to fill that void, offering a variety of options throughout the day, as well as being the Disney Dining Plan mug refill location at the resort. What the resort lacks in quick-service it makes up for in table-service locations, with various table-service restaurants located along the Boardwalk, many of which are Disney fan-favorites! The Boardwalk resort, in true Disney resort fashion, has a themed feature pool that is very nice and is a great way to spend some time at the resort.

Resort Transportation

The Boardwalk Resort features some more unique and diverse transportation options in comparison to some other Disney resorts. Firstly, there is a walking path that allows you to walk around the lake, hitting Epcot, the Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club, the Swan & Dolphin, as well as Hollywood Studios. In addition to the walking path, there is boat transportation between all of these locations around the lake, and connected waterways. Bus transportation is the way to get to Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for reading along! As always, leave a comment below if you have stayed at the Boardwalk Resort, or if you now need to!
