Restaurant Review: 'Ohana

Hello there! It's Gabe again and I'm here with a restaurant review of 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Resort!

'Ohana Overview

'Ohana is a restaurant in the Great Ceremonial House, the main building at the Polynesian. The restaurant is one of the more popular at Walt Disney World, so reservations are a must if you would like to dine here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed featuring dark wood tones, and windows that look out to the other areas of the resort. 'Ohana is open for breakfast, which features Lilo & Stitch characters - which is sure to be a favorite among Lilo & Stitch fans. 'Ohana also serves up dinner, which is character free, yet provides a wonderful experience. Dinner features Polynesian inspired dishes served up family style. This review will focus primarily on dinner, as that is the more unique experience, food-wise, at least compared to other Walt Disney World locations.

Food at 'Ohana

Dinner service starts with some wonderful pineapple coconut bread, which is very unique and not featured anywhere else (at least to my knowledge). Bread service is followed by a nice salad featuring all sorts of different components, including, but not limited to romaine lettuce and edamame. The salad is followed by a large platter that features stir-fry noodles and vegetables, the noodles are cooked very nicely and have an almost sweet flavor. Pot stickers are also included on this platter, and are about what you would expect from a pot sticker. The platter also includes chicken wings which are coated in a very flavorful sauce. Now comes the fun part! Waiters will come to your table with large skewers of grilled meats, including chicken, steak, and shrimp. The meats are all cooked wonderfully, and taste great with the sauces that are brought by your table. Once you have decided that you are finished with your meal, you can and are encouraged to ask for more of anything and everything, a very nice dessert will be brought to your table. The dessert consists of a fantastic bread pudding that is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and warm caramel sauce.q
