Restaurant Review: BlueIguana Cantina

Hey everyone, it’s Victoria, and today’s blog post could be considered a follow up from my previous post about specialty dining on Carnival Cruises. But instead of another post about the delicious Guy’s Burger Joint, today’s post is about another fleetwide favorite: BlueIguana Cantina!

Here is BlueIguana Cantina aboard the Carnival Magic, circa December 2017

BlueIguana Cantina is another speciality restaurant aboard Carnival that specializes in fresh burritos and tacos, with a toppings bar stationed next to the restaurant itself. BlueIguana doesn’t have it’s own special area, it occupies a corner of the pool deck, but the kitschy decorations make it a cute and fun area to grab a bite to eat and snap a photo or two.

One of my favorite things about BlueIguana is that it offers a breakfast burrito for the morning rush before switching to the traditional lunch menu. Another good thing about the BlueIguana breakfast is that most people don’t think or don’t know that they serve breakfast, making the line shorter than what you might find at the usual buffet.

The lunch line is also a shorter wait than what you might find at other restaurants on the ship, but even if there’s a slightly longer line, the wait is worth it; BlueIguana burritos are seriously some of my favorites and a definite must try.  Burritos aren’t the only good thing at BlueIguana, the tacos are also delicious, and thankfully you can pick and choose what you want and customize your meal however you want!

When you first walk up to the counter, they ask you if you want burritos or tacos, but I remember ordering one of each at the same time, and then you’ll say what type of shell/tortilla you want. And after you choose your tortilla, the rest is up to you with your choosing of what type of protein, veggies, and toppings you want! Once you’re done choosing what you want put on your burrito/taco and after they roll up your burrito, you have the option of going to the Salsa Bar to choose additional toppings.

My go to meal at BlueIguana is a chicken burrito on a wheat tortilla with cilantro lime rice, black beans, and roasted corn all topped with sour cream and Monterey Jack shredded cheese. There is nothing that compares to eating that delicious, mouthwatering burrito while having views of the ocean surrounding you!

The options are truly endless at BlueIguana and the various amounts of toppings makes it a perfect choice even for the pickiest of eaters!

I hope you enjoyed this brief overview of BlueIguana Cantina aboard Carnival Cruises and it gave you an idea of what to expect aboard a Carnival Cruise!
