Photo Collection: Barcelona Zoo

Hello, it's Gabe again. Today I have a photo collection from the Barcelona Zoo in Barcelona, Spain.

Firstly, a little background on the zoo; it is situated in the Parc de la Ciutadella, which is a nice, green park in Barcelona. The zoo is famous for being the home of the only known albino Gorilla, called Snowflake who passed away in 2003. The zoo features a wide variety of animals, including many which will be more familiar to guests, and some species that are more unknown to guests and are native to the Iberian peninsula. As a disclaimer, I took all of these pictures myself.

Top: View of Barcelona city as seen from within the zoo
Bottom Right: The Barcelona Zoo entrance sign
Bottom Left: A mural of Snowflake the albino gorilla

Top: A Meerkat in his exhibit is standing watching the happenings at the zoo
Bottom Right: A peacock roaming the zoo; just a side note - this seems to be a common theme for me in Europe, as I ran into roaming peacocks in Copenhagen at Tivoli Gardens
Bottom Left: The African Elephants enjoying their exhibit; side note - there was construction on new elevated pathways going on in this area as of this June, so you will probably get a better view of these wonderful creatures as that project progresses

Top: The herd of Giraffe; at Barcelona Zoo they have Rothschild's Giraffe; you can see a baby giraffe laying on the ground near the foot of the giraffe on the left
Bottom Right: These were wooden giraffe statues that were very picturesque right near the Giraffe exhibit
Bottom Left: The herd of Giraffe from a different angle; the baby giraffe is standing in this picture near the giraffe on the left

Top Left: Buffalo seen in their exhibit
Top Right: Tamarins, the zoo has several different subspecies of tamarins, which are always a joy to observe
Bottom Right: A Capybara as seen in his exhibit
Bottom Left: Wallabies seen relaxing in their exhibit, you can even see a lone albino Wallaby, he is the one that looks all white in picture

I hope you all enjoyed our look at the Barcelona Zoo! If you wish to visit the zoo's website you can click here. As always, leave a comment below regarding the Barcelona Zoo.
